On March 23rd & March 24th my Impossible Dream challenge went to new heights. The SF Bank of America building was the first dream challenge.  I was among 1200 individual's that ran to the top of the 52 floor Building. My lungs were pounding when I reached my dream goal. There were Firefighters,  Seniors, Children all just" Going for it!!!!" Great food and chocolate chip cookies too:)

The next Day was a 31 mile ultra marathon in the Oakland hills. The run went through the redwoods and hilltops with incredible views. The neuropathy in my legs and feet was horrendous to say the least, but I did reach the finish line 6:11 minutes later. My blood cancer has just messed my body up ,but I just will not let it stop me. Please sign up for a virtual dream challenge, and go for that dream you have within your heart. The goal is to have 1000 dreamers,  1000 dreams come true and to raise $100,000 to fund new cures. Hopefully we can find me a cure at the same time.

That would be nice!

Please pledge to donate or fundraise just $100.00 on my "Be A Hero" link.

On Saturday March 2nd, the alarm went off at 3:00am. Soon I was brushing my teeth, shaving, showering, putting on some deodorant and heading out the door. I met up with my crazy running buddy Jon Judge at 4:30, and were soon heading to the Oakland Airport for a crazy impossible dream adventure.

Our plane soon landed at the Las Vegas Airport at 7:30am. The mission was to run from the airport to the top of the 108 story Stratoshere hotel/casino. As we ran from the airport, we hid our sweats and extra clothes under a bunch of rocks near the road entering the airport. We placed lots of rocks on top so know one would find them. As we ran toward our target at the far end of the Las Vegas Strip, I just missed stepping on a huge bee hive that was near the curb. There were at least 1000 bees in that hive, and my foot missed stepping on it by maybe 9 inches. Yikes!!!

We arrived at the event at 8:45am, and were climbing the steps not long after arriving. Their were 600 climbers that day, and we were released every thirty seconds. My lungs were burning and hurting as I took it all the way to the top. It was something like 1500 steps and 850 feet of climbing, but it was not impossible to accomplish. My time was 12 minutes and four seconds which was not bad for a 52 year old, and Jon just was just a few minutes behind me.

The impossible Dream 2013 is about proving the POSSIBLE, and helping raise $500,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The goal is to have all you taking on a dream challenge beginning April 4th, and ending on June 13th. Ten weeks to prove the Possible, and pledge to donate just $100.00 to our fundraising page link beginning April 4th.

After the event was finished we decided to crash the hotel pool and hot tub. We grabbed a few pool towels, and couple Bud Lights and enjoyed the 75 degree weather. Later that night as we headed back to the airport terminal we were stopped by the police. " What are you doing wandering around the outside of this terminal" the officer said. We explained we hid our clothes under a rock but can't find them. He kinda shook his head and shined the spotlight to help us. At 10:00pm we boarded the plane wearing our sweats, and the adventure was coming to an end. Jon and I are often called " Dumb & Dumber", but we did prove THE POSSIBLE that day. The day ended at 1:20am when my head was back on my pillow.
I hope you will enter your dream, and pledge to donate or fundraise to fund new targeted cures and treatments for blood cancer. A World Without Cancer is our dream, and I hope you will join us as we prove the POSSIBLE!
David:)

Have you met my daughter Anna!! Laura and I have two children ( Anna 8 and Gabby 4 ). We were blessed that a  young girl named Carrie selected us to adopt each of her children at birth. Total life blessing!!!

Anna was born with two genetic conditions and grew up with heart monitors attached to her at home and she almost had open heart surgery at age 5 months. The doctors cancelled surgery just one day prior. Anna was fed by NG tubes in her nose because the genetic condition made feeding a huge challenge. Laura and I were told by doctors that she was blind, and would not see. Well...., I feel like taking her to the same doctors today to watch her maneuver her IPAD. Incredible!!!

Anna does wear special orthotic shoes, and a back brace due to her scoliosis surgery which she will repeat every nine months until age 16 or 17.

Anna does remains non verbal today, but I bet she will soon prove doctors wrong again. She loves her teachers, her school, and is doing very well. No fine motor skills yet, but she just spells over the computer instead.

Life is full of so many challenges for each of us, but we need to follow Anna's example. She always has her little smile, and cute little laugh and enjoys each day without a worry in the world. Anna makes it very clear to Mommy and Daddy that her dream is to get back to Disneyland, and to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. When this ten week challenge wraps up on June13th, and finances look better....our dream will take Anna and Gabby back to their favorite spot....Disneyland!!

Please subscribe to our blogsite using the home page. Afterward, go to: What's Your Dream?and enter the dream you wish to accomplish between April 4th and June 13th. We will all go for that dream that lives within our heart, and also try to raise just $100.00 dollars each for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Donations can be made after April 4th when we attach the fundraising link. The goal is to have 5000 of us going for our dream and raising a half million dollars to fund new cancer cures and treatments.

Tommorrow (Sunday February 10th) morning at 8am PST, I will begin a 31 mile Ultra Marathon in the hills of Marin County, CA. I am taking on this incredible challenge to go for my crazy and thought to be impossible dreams. People may think I am nuts, but I just say......Why not?. It's only 7 1/2 to 9 hours of continuous running up and down steep hills, valleys, fighting fog and wind as I watch amazing ocean views. Am I really nuts? I will be enjoying the views of San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausalito California while many still lay in bed. I hope that you will sign up for a dream challenge by clicking on the What's Your Dream button. Come join me and 5000 others as we GO FOR OUR DREAMS and raise funds to end cancer.
